St. Augustine, Florida

The oldest city in the country is St. Augustine. Just by this statement, you must be thinking it is filled with history right? Indeed it is. St. Augustine is a very small town located in North Florida, towards the East. It was founded in the 16th century by Pedro Menendez de Aviles. St. Augustine has the Castle of San Marcos, a fort built in 1672 used to protect the land. Nowadays, it is a historical state park. St. Augustine also offers the famous, Fountain of Youth. I drank the water…and I don’t feel any younger. You know? The whole saying of drinking water from the fountain, will make you younger? Total nonsense, but the park itself is lovely and quiet and small. St. Augustine also offers shopping and grand cathedrals. It’s a different atmosphere if you’re coming from a big city, which was my case. Image
